WiSee – Hand gestures enable through wireless(WiFi) signals

WiSee – Hand gestures enable through wireless(WiFi) signals

The digital world has become very much interactive. The way in which we interact with the electronic devices has changed a lot. It has made our lives even better. Below are some of the devices and how we interact with it.

The list goes on. If we notice on the above product and technologies, there is a unique hardware build to make interaction more better. But we have WiSee, a new and innovative technology which is under research where the users can perform physical hand gestures without any additional devices. The WiSee takes the advantage of WiFi signals from the routers to detect the change in amplitude and other properties of wireless signals when the users performs hand gestures. WiSee doesn’t requires any additional devices like camera, sensor other than WiSee enabled routers which will be available soon as a commercial product.

We can see WiSee enabled routers in near future and it doesn’t require any change in existing wireless standards.

Apple Mac Pro – Complete Redesign of Workstation Desktop

Apple Mac Pro – Complete Redesign of Workstation Desktop

We have been using desktops for a very long time with the physical design of it remainning the same. There were some innovations made to desktops by companies like Alienware, Razerzone with LEDs to make it look better and attractive. But the overall shape has remained same for years. Have you ever bored of using such design? Here we have Apple’s Mac Pro, a workstation desktop with complete physical redesign.

Mac Pro
It is upcoming workstation desktop computer from Apple which a complete physical redesign running on Mac.Apple has built such a great performance machine to give better graphics, storage, expansion, processing power, and memory.

  • Dual GPUs
  • PCI Express-based flash storage
  • High-performance Thunderbolt 2
  • new-generation Xeon processors
  • Ultrafast memory
  • support for 4K video

Mac Pro is powered by latest Intel Xeon E5 chipset which offers  up to 12 cores of processing power and up to 40GB/s of PCI Express gen 3 bandwidth.

Mac Pro includes a four-channel DDR3 memory controller running at 1866MHz. It has a bandwidth capability of 60GB/s.

It offers a very high graphic performance with dual AMD FirePro workstation GPUs with up to 6GB of dedicated VRAM which can support 4K resolution dispalys even for graphic intensive applications

We all know about flash storage which offers very high read write performance compared to SATA and other storage technologies. But in Mac pro we have next-generation PCI Express flash storage which is  2.5 times faster than the solid-state drive and up to 10 times faster than a 7200-rpm SATA hard drive.

Expansion Slots
Mac pro has 6 built‑in Thunderbolt 2 which is the fastest IO technology available, four USB 3, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and HDMI 1.4 port. each Thunderbolt 2 port has the capability to connect to 6 external peripheral devices and thus with 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports we can use upto 36 external peripheral  devices.

Mac pro comes with built in wireless 802.11ac Wi-Fi for the latest in high-speed wireless connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0.

We have got a beast which delivers such a great performance with just 9.9″ height and 6.6″ width. Apple has designed a custom thermal solution to drive the heat generated from the CPUs and GPUs.

Quality product always comes with quality price. But anyway the pricing information and release date is not yet announced.

Virtuix Omni – Advanced Virtual Reality Platform – Includes Natural Movements

Virtuix Omni – Advanced Virtual Reality Platform – Includes Natural Movements

The digital world has now started moving towards the virtual reality computing. The computer and other digital devices are now very much interactive and has filled the gap between the humans and the electronic devices. there are many virtual reality electronic devices in the line up which includes Oculus Rift, Google Glass, Kinect and many more. Kinect is actually a motion controller for Xbox console which cannot track 3D movements in physical space. Oculus Rift is a VR head-mount display which gives a VR of a very large display with 7inch screen.

Here is another Kickstarter project Omni from Virtuix, a first virtual reality platform for moving freely and naturally in your favorite game. Omni allow us to naturally move with our feet to control movement controls in gaming instead of just sitting and playing with a keyboard, mouse or a controller. This is the next level of futuristic gaming experience.

The Omni is similar to a treadmill where a user can naturally move around in 360 degrees. It uses a special low friction surface and a special shoes to track the movement of the user. Omni can track movements like walking, running, crouching and strafing. Omni also requires Oculus Rift, VR head-mount to give completely immerse VR experience, a controller and a PC for interfacing all these devices. The project is currently under funding.
