In my WordPress blog I had a CSS with an image used for background property. The image rendered normal in Chrome browser. But I had an error “The image “image_name” cannot be displayed because it contains errors” in Mozilla Firefox which was due to different image encoding format. I was not even able to open that image in Windows Photo Viewer .Follow any of the below given solution to solve the issue.
Open the image in Photoshop or any other image software and save the image in different format. In my case, I was not even able to open the image in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Paint. Adobe Photoshop reported the following error when opening “Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file.” Windows Paint application reported the error as “Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported.”. Try using any image editors and save the image in required format if it works.
Use any online image converter tools to convert the image to required format. I used the online tool from http://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-jpg to convert my PNG image file to JPEG file which rendered normally in both Chrome and Firefox browser.
